so i tried to update the firmware including cfw and ofw (which never goes well) and at first it crashed in yellow. after this, any attempts to boot again resulted in nothing happening. I tried starting with a fresh atmosphere folder and eventually I wiped the sd and put everything back with the latest hats pack. at this point, nothing I do results in even the hekate menu showing up and it's started acting like a patched switch even though I know it's not. ofw still boots just fine.
