RSS Switch shows error code at boot, doesn't accept power and won't enter recovery mode

Title says it all, I also found that some areas of the mesh on the back appeared to be very dark as if it overheated. I also found that my joycons still charge when I connect them to the switch but the unit won't hold a charge. This is a second hand switch that is the unpatched model and I want to save this switch and avoid sending it to nintendo where they'll probably replace it entirely.

I would attach pictures of the error code but I forgot to take a picture before and the battery is now...
