RSS I have a Japan model I just bought from eBay it's a 2017 model and it's unpacked of course now I want to put atmosphere on there I didn't update yet

Do I need to put the latest atmosphere it's only a 2017 Japanese model I haven't updated the OFW it was an eBay find at Japan model I need help and advice please before I update the OFW the last time I update one of these switches I couldn't use tin foil that was couple weeks ago so now I want to mod my new Switch without updating anything is that possible
