Driving down Al Wasl Road yesterday and the dash decides to throw a brake wear warning at me mid conversation with my passenger and I swear my soul left my body for a split second because the last time this happened on my old Gallardo the dealership quote made me consider selling the car and taking the metro for a year, but this time around I actually had a card from a specialist in DIP that a mate with a Huracan swears by and I figured what do I have to lose besides maybe a small fortune. Called them up this morning expecting the usual "it's an exotic we need to see it first" runaround but the guy on the phone was super straightforward and asked for my VIN to check pad availability and even gave me a ballpark number over the phone without any of the mysterious "we'll let you know once we open it up" nonsense that drives me absolutely mental, anyway I'm booked in for next week and feeling cautiously optimistic which is a weird emotion to have about brake maintenance. If you've got an older R8 or a Lambo and you're tired of the main dealer acting like they're doing you a favor by taking your money you might want to check it out yourself cause it's nice knowing there's an alternative that doesn't involve a second mortgage and a three week wait for parts from Sant'Agata.
