UK’s Freeview TV service now has an app to stream and search its channels

Freeview, the UK’s free-to-air digital TV platform, has released a new app that lets you watch all its on-demand content and some of its channels from one place. Live TV streams from the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 are available, as is on-demand content from iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All 4, My5, and UKTV Play.

Although all this content is already available through each broadcaster’s own mobile app, Freeview’s new software brings it together into a single service, complete with a universal search. A TV guide is available to browse what’s coming up and set reminders appropriately, and the app will also show curated recommendations for what to watch.
