LG’s new short throw 4K laser projector is now available for $6,000

LG’s second-gen HU85LA 4K laser projector was announced last December ahead of CES, and now it’s finally available today for the eye-watering price of $5,999.

There’s no other way to slice it: that’s a lot of money for a projector. It’s twice the already-pricey $2,999 that LG charged for its original 4K laser projector, the HU80KA. But the new model is a short throw projector that can create a 90-inch projection from just two inches away (or up to a 120-inch image at 7.2 inches away).


Spec-wise, the HU85LA will offer 2,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 4K UHD resolution as well as USB, Ethernet, and HDMI ports for connectivity. It’ll also support both Google Assistant and LG’s ThinQ AI for voice commands, giving users...
