Apple in iOS 16 updated the battery icon on iPhones with Face ID to display the specific battery percentage rather than just a visual representation of battery level. At launch, this feature did not include the iPhone 13 mini, but according to multiple reports from the MacRumors forums, the 13 mini is now supported.

Battery percent was not present on iPhones that have ‌‌Face ID‌‌ in iOS 15 because of the lack of space on either side of the notch that houses the TrueDepth camera hardware, but Apple's updated ‌iOS 16‌ design adds the specific battery level to the battery icon, providing a better idea of battery status at a glance.

With this update, ‌iPhone 13‌ mini users can see the same battery percent in the battery icon as those who have the larger ‌iPhone 13‌ models, and it's likely that this is also extended to the iPhone 12 mini, though not confirmed as of yet.

Other devices that did not have battery percent at ‌iOS 16‌'s launch included the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11, and it is not known if these iPhones have also been updated with iOS 16.1. We'll update this article when we learn which specific devices support the battery percent feature.
