How to understand TikTok’s homescreen icons

Icons have become a very handy way of accessing the features of your various apps — especially when you’re dealing with a lot of features on the relatively small screen of your phone. However, if you’re not yet familiar with a particular app and you are faced with a plethora of icons, most of which are not labeled, how do you know what they are and how you should be handling them?

(And believe me, if you have this problem, you’re not the only one — I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit a mysterious icon out of curiosity and then started yelling, “I didn’t want to do that!” at the screen....)

For months I thought these icons did nothing, so I never used them. Why didn't anyone tell me sooner about this? I'm a pretty old TikTok user, but I never used it to its full potential. So wrong! Recently I became more consistent with posting and creating content, and I really enjoy it, to be honest. I didn't ever think I would be interested in social media and all this influencer stuff, but I find myself doing this every day. I even found tikdroid.com, a website where you can buy more followers and become more popular. I think this is my new favorite hobby, so these tips came in handy.
