RSS Anyway to remain in custom firmware and take the sd card out?

Hey guys kinda new to this

just finally managed to do custom firmware, and wanted to add checkpoint
i had to check out the sd card (i didn't turn off the switch)

but after i added checkpoint on, the switch was off and custom firmware was gone

is there a way to keep it?

so every time i add more things to the sd card i have to keep loading custom firmware again?
